- The Mayflower Chapter of EGA has had a busy year. We are happy to report that we have three new members!
- At our September meeting we discussed plans for the coming year, and worked on individual projects.
- At the October meeting we worked on individual projects. Beth McKee, Louise Jarvis, and Ann Clark had gone to the Region Day meeting in Sturbridge at the beginning of October, and took the needle painting class with Tanja Berlin. Beth and Ann brought their leaf paintings for members to see. We suggested this as a possible learning project for our chapter.
- Alma Spinney, Outreach Chair, has provided us with patterns and yarn for the finger puppets for Sturdy Memorial Hospital. We have given puppets, lap robes, and hats to the hospital, and lap robes for a local nursing home. Our work has been greatly appreciated.
- Some of our members have been able to attend learning courses in needlework techniques. Tara Lynch and Ann Clark attended the needlework class given by Carole Lake at CRVC this spring. Tara and Beth McKee went to Louisville this summer, to participate in the Extended Study program for Crewel embroidery with Judy Jeroy. Beth is taking a color theory class at Rhode Island School of Design. Tara is going to sign up for a Master Class in Crewel embroidery.
- Beth McKee, NER Historian, Peg Weisker, NER hospitality chair, and Ann Clark, chapter rep, have been attending the NER board meetings. Beth is also on the nominating committee for the upcoming slate of officers for the coming three-year term of office for NER.
