Mayflower Chapter - News

Mayflower Chapter has had a busy winter season.  We had a regular chapter meeting in November, with members working on individual projects.  We also finalized plans for our traditional holiday dinner out.  Beth McKee, Peg Weisker, and Ann Clark attended the November NER board meeting.

In December we had our traditional dinner out, with cookie swap, gift exchange, and ornament swap. Handmade ornaments.

In January we worked on individual projects.  We also had Ginny Graham volunteer for nominating committee for the slate of officers for our elections in May.  Officer to be elected is secretary.

In February members began work on our chapter group project, a needlepoint design, Kris’ Crosses, from the September/October issue of NEEDLEPOINT NOW.  We bought out their last 14 remaining issues!  We welcomed a new member, Fern Burdette.  Fern is a plural member, and is also active in ANG, the needlepoint guild.

On March 3 we had a stitch-in at the Mansfield Public Library.  Members participating were Mary Gelenian, Alma Spinney, Peg Weisker, Virginia Banian, Lori Yarworth, and Ann Clark.  At our March meeting we discussed having a stitching program for children, where, which ages, what, etc.  Tara Lynch suggested having a stitching program for Girl Scouts, and it was decided to do that.  We will be having a board meeting to finalize plans for this

workshop.  Louise Jarvis, who has worked with youth, had several specific ideas on how to set up this workshop.  We have also gotten help from Violet Anderson, NER Outreach Chair.

We currently have 24 members.

Respectfully submitted,

--Ann Clark
