SEMINAR 2012: ROOM RESERVATION INFORMATION
Our EGA room block at the Hilton Resort at Buffalo Thunder is currently sold out. Extremely limited availability remains at our first overflow facility, Homewood Suites. We are exploring many possibilities with Buffalo Thunder and other properties. Yes, we are amazed by this situation happening 5+ months before seminar! But we are so thankful for this timing because we have adequate time to address the problem.
If you have not booked a room, please don't be concerned. Remember that every added room block requires an additional contract or addendum that must be approved by the EGA Executive Committee before the signing process. And please be assured that we will proceed in a timely, yet purposeful manner so that we can provide the best outcome for you - our registrants and potential registrants.
We did not anticipate this situation. We all have heard that familiar maxim: The secret of success is location, location, location. Santa Fe's status as a top destination definitely supports the importance of location. In fact, the lure of Santa Fe has transformed EGA seminar attendance into a co-ed event. Approximately 100 of our attendees are being accompanied by their husbands! Yes, we are making EGA history!
We deeply appreciate our registrants' prompt responses to our request for your booking status. We will keep you informed through email blasts and our EGA website as soon as we have specific information. Meanwhile, we advise you to not attempt to reserve a room at Buffalo Thunder and to not book a room at other hotels or outside an EGA room block.

SPOTLIGHT ON TOURS
Now that most EGA members have received the Seminar 2012 Santa Fe Enchantment brochure (mailed with the March issue of Needle Arts), selecting your class preferences often takes priority. But, how do you choose just one tour? Every tour is too intriguing to pass up! The 2012 menu of tours offers more than the area's rich history and unique culture. Don't miss the behind-the-scenes treasures featured on many tours; these experiences are not accessible when touring on your own. Because these tour opportunities are so unique, space is limited. Decisions, decisions, decisions! It's fun daydreaming about each tour, but you will need to choose and book your favorite right away to assure a spot!
Focus on Special Events
Aug. 31 Merchandise Orders Deadline Oct. 1 Hotel Room Reservations Deadline.
Santa Fe Enchantment is offering too many special events to list here, but one of the notable highlights is the Rocky Mountain Region Prospectors Exhibit. This exhibit, unique to the RMR seminars, showcases original, creative, and adventurous stitching based on a theme. The theme for this year is Visions of Santa Fe. And as a bonus, this year will include an Encore of past Prospectors entries! You will certainly need to make time to see each piece.
Another not-to-be-missed special event is the President's Farewell Exhibit of Helenn Rumpel's "Embroidery Enlightenment: an Artist's Concept". This event will reveal Helenn's unique fiber art and what it is that leads her to incorporate diversified techniques into her brightly hued and gem-like interpretive works. Her stitchery and innovative framing of embroidery enhance her compositions of beauty, and show how teaching renews the artistic experience.
Then, you must remember to be first to arrive at The Trading Post! This merchandise event has our experts combing the New Mexico area for distinctive items unique to the South West. Look for kits, beads, tools, materials, accessories and trinkets. Will you find that exceptional and rare handmade item you need?
